Softball Recap: Minisink Valley Picks Up Fourth Straight Win on the Road

Minisink Valley was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Washingtonville on Wednesday. The Warriors put the hurt on the Wizards with a sharp 23-1 win. The Warriors have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wizards, too.

Keira Filip was incredible, scoring five runs and stealing a base while going 6-for-6. Those five runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Rogers, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, three doubles, and four RBI.

Minisink Valley pushed their record up to 1-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Washingtonville, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Minisink Valley will challenge rival Warwick at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Washingtonville is set to square off against their familiar foe Monticello at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
