Volleyball Recap: Alice Coyotes vs. Corpus Christi Moody Trojans
Alice was the 2-0 winner over Corpus Christi Moody when they last played one another back in August of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Alice Coyotes wound up with the same score they had in their last game (3-1), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 16-25, 25-17, 25-20.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Corpus Christi Moody to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aubrey Guerra, who had 16 digs and 30 assists. Guerra is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had six or more in the last 12 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Perales, who had 27 digs.
Alice's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Corpus Christi Moody, their win bumped their record up to 9-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alice will challenge Flour Bluff at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Flour Bluff will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Alice surely won't give up without a fight. As for Corpus Christi Moody, they will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial at 5:00 p.m.
