Marian waltzed into their match on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came out on top against the Gretna East Griffins by a score of 2-0. This was payback for the Crusaders, who suffered a 3-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Their offense was headlined by Erin Cramer and Kayla Brown, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from Addy Janke and her 14 assists. Finally, Annabella Suljuzovic kept Marian's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Marian's win bumped their record up to 19-6. As for Gretna East, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.
