Baseball Game Preview: Pioneer Patriots vs. River City Raiders

The Pioneer Patriots will take on the River City Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Pioneer sitting on three straight wins and River City on five.

On Thursday, Pioneer made easy work of Sacramento and carried off a 15-1 victory.

Liberty Ranch typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday River City proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 10-5 win over the Hawks. River City's victory was all the more impressive since the Hawks were averaging only 2.52 runs allowed on the season.

Tanner Mayberry was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Patrick Johnston, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

River City pushed their record up to 15-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Pioneer, their win bumped their record up to 12-9.
