Softball Recap: Saranac Comes Up Short

Saranac was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 12-11 heartbreaker at the hands of the St. Patrick Shamrocks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Redskins of the 8-7 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

Saranac got a massive performance out of Maddy Vickery, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Smus, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Saranac's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for St. Patrick, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Saranac will challenge Michigan Lutheran Seminary at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for St. Patrick, they will face off against Fowler at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
