Luella waltzed into their contest on Friday with 12 straight wins... but they left with 13. They took their match with ease, bagging a 62-25 victory over the Cedar Grove Saints. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while the Saints are ranked 344th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Cedar Grove saw an underclassman step up: freshman M. McCutcheon posted 11 points. McCutcheon has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more blocks the last 13 times she's played.

Luella pushed their record up to 23-3 with the win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Cedar Grove, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 11-14 record this season.

Luella does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cedar Grove, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against North Clayton at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. North Clayton will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Cedar Grove surely won't give up without a fight.
