Football Recap: Cape Elizabeth Takes a Loss

Cape Elizabeth managed to slip by Yarmouth the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Capers lost 64-38 to the Clippers on Saturday. The Capers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Clippers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2018.

Yarmouth's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ignatius (Iggy) McGrath led the charge by throwing for 453 yards and six TDs while picking up 15.6 yards per attempt, and also punching in one score on the ground. Jackson Jabar was (Iggy) McGrath's top target, picking up 177 receiving yards and one touchdown, while also rushing for 67 yards and one score on only five carries.

Cape Elizabeth's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Yarmouth, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Cape Elizabeth is set to square off against their familiar foe Lake Region at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Yarmouth will take on rival Spruce Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,093 yards in their previous games.
