Basketball Recap: Harvey Has No Trouble Against Orange

Harvey's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 58-47 win over the Orange Lions. That looming 58-47 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Red Raiders yet this season.

Harvey got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Chase Goines out in front who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Goines a new career-high in boards. Another player making a difference was Armani Hall, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 17 points and five rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Orange lost, don't look at Major Calhoun. Despite the final result, he went 8 for 17 en route to 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jhamir Smith, who posted five points.

Harvey's record is now 4-13. As for Orange, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.

Harvey will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Edgewood at 7:00 p.m. Harvey knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Edgewood likes a good challenge. Orange has already played their next matchup (against Mineral Ridge), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
