Softball Recap: Amador Valley Takes a Loss

Amador Valley came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Dougherty Valley Wildcats, falling 18-8. The Dons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Riya Sharda was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Amador Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Dougherty Valley, their record now sits at 9-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Amador Valley will host Carondelet at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Dougherty Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Castro Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans' pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
