Softball Recap: Miyamura Takes a Loss

If Miyamura was feeling good fresh off their 19-0 takedown of Rio Grande last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Patriots came up short against the Aztec Tigers on Thursday, falling 11-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Patriots in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost three in a row.

ALEXIS BEGAY was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Miyamura's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Aztec, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-10.

Miyamura wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-5 defeat against Kirtland Central on the 8th. As for Aztec, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 20-2 victory against Shiprock on the 8th.
