Basketball Recap: Rainier Takes a Loss

Rainier was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 53-39 to the Riverdale Mavericks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Columbians of the 43-23 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Rainier's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Riverdale, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

When Rainier and Riverdale next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Rainier will square off against Banks and their ten-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Riverdale will try to stop Corbett's four-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
