Football Recap: Arapahoe Warriors vs. Shelby-Rising City Huskies

Arapahoe and Shelby-Rising City squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Arapahoe had to settle for second. They took a 30-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Shelby-Rising City Huskies.

When it comes to explaining why Arapahoe lost, don't look at William Cacy. Despite the final result, he rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 70 receiving yards and a touchdown. Cacy showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 55 yards. Another big playmaker for Arapahoe was Grayson Koller, who returned a punt for a touchdown.

Shelby-Rising City found their leader in sophomore Carter Eickmeier, who rushed for 200 yards and two touchdowns. Eickmeier's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 123 rushing yards.

Arapahoe's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Shelby-Rising City, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.

Arapahoe does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Shelby-Rising City, they will venture away from home to face off against Sandy Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Sandy Creek has won five straight at home, while Shelby-Rising City won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
