Hermleigh and Eula squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Hermleigh had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 6-4. The Cardinals' loss signaled the end of their 20-game winning streak.

Hermleigh saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mia Pence, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Another was Kolbie Campbell, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.

Hermleigh's defeat dropped their record down to 20-2. As for Eula, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 9-4.

While Hermleigh had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
