Softball Recap: Desert Hills Makes It Eight in a Row on the Road

Desert Hills won the last time they faced Snow Canyon and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Thunder blew past the Warriors 16-1. Considering the Thunder have won 17 matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lulu West made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Desert Hills got a massive performance out of Riley Greene, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Bailey Lee, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Desert Hills was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Snow Canyon only posted a batting average of .273.

Desert Hills' win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 25-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Snow Canyon, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-15.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Desert Hills beat the Warriors by a score of 7-3 on Friday.
