Softball Recap: North Yarmouth Academy Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

It's playoff time, and North Yarmouth Academy had no trouble coming through when it counted. They had just enough and edged out the St. Dominic Saints 4-3. The victory was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on five straight.

Lily Fortin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Cami Casserly was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.

North Yarmouth Academy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for St. Dominic, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.

As of now, neither North Yarmouth Academy nor the Saints have any future games scheduled.
