It was fun while it lasted, but Carolina International's undefeated season came to an end after nine games on Friday. They fell to the Hickory Ridge Ragin' Bulls 75-71. The loss put an end to the Comets' undefeated start to the season.

Carolina International lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Brent Banks, who went 8 for 12 on his way to 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of KJ Shouse Jr., who went 6 of 8 on his way to 14 points and five boards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Carolina International fell to 9-1. As for Hickory Ridge, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Carolina International didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 77-54 loss against East Mecklenburg on the 28th. As for Hickory Ridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 82-62 defeat against Victory Christian Center on the 28th.
