Recap: Shenandoah Valley Blue Devils vs. North Schuylkill Spartans
The Shenandoah Valley Blue Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by North Schuylkill at home and fell 58-21. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Shenandoah Valley has scored all season.
North Schuylkill had a senior duo take command as Jack Keiter scored 12 points along with three steals and Zane Zulkowski scored ten points along with seven steals and five rebounds. The matchup was Keiter's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyrone Chambers, who scored nine points.
Shenandoah Valley's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-7. As for North Schuylkill, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.
Shenandoah Valley will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Blue Mountain at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Blue Mountain knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six contests -- so hopefully Shenandoah Valley likes a good challenge. North Schuylkill will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lehighton at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
