Basketball Game Preview: Academy at the Lakes Wildcats vs. Universal Academy Falcons

Academy at the Lakes and Universal Academy are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2017, but not for long. The Academy at the Lakes Wildcats will venture away from home to take on the Universal Academy Falcons at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Friday, Academy at the Lakes took a blow against Keswick Christian, falling 69-42. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Universal Academy hasn't had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They walked away with a 51-43 victory over Cristo Rey Tampa on Friday.

Academy at the Lakes' loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Universal Academy, their win bumped their record up to 2-12.

Academy at the Lakes didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Universal Academy when the teams last played back in November of 2024, but they still walked away with a 46-42 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Academy at the Lakes since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
