Basketball Recap: Old Mill Comes Up Short

Old Mill suffered their closest defeat since December 8, 2023 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Meade Mustangs by a score of 68-65. The Patriots were not able to make up for their loss to the Mustangs from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Meade found their leader in sophomore Keon Scott, who went 8-for-18 to rack up 24 points in addition to eight steals and seven assists. Ashton Turman was another key player, going 5-for-11 on his way to 13 points.

Old Mill's defeat dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Meade, the win (which was their 16th in a row) raised their record to 18-3.

Old Mill has already played their next contest (against River Hill), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Meade, they will challenge Severn Run at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meade knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 20 matches -- so hopefully Severn Run likes a good challenge.
