Basketball Recap: Wheatland-Grinnell's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Wheatland-Grinnell had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 51-39 win over the Golden Plains Bulldogs. This was payback for the Thunderhawks, who suffered a 58-38 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Wheatland-Grinnell's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Daniel Mason, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 15 boards. The dominant performance gave Mason a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Riley Tuttle, who posted 18 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists.

Wheatland-Grinnell smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive matchups.

The victory got Wheatland-Grinnell back to even at 3-3. As for Golden Plains, they moved to 3-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
