Basketball Recap: Gary West Side Takes a Loss

Gary West Side extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping them down to 2-5. They took a blow against the Hammond Bishop Noll Warriors, falling 58-19. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-4.

As for Hammond Bishop Noll, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 39 points.

Hammond Bishop Noll found their leader in sophomore M'Aliyah Lewis, who shot 75% from the field to rack up 13 points and three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for Lewis. The team also got some help courtesy of Giniya Williams, who posted 12 points and five boards.

Coming up, Gary West Side will head out to challenge South Bend Riley at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Hammond Bishop Noll, they will be home for the holidays to greet Highland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans have been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
