Softball Preview: Jefferson Cougars vs. Spring Mills Cardinals
Jefferson is 9-1 against Spring Mills since April of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Jefferson Cougars will look to defend their home field against the Spring Mills Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Jefferson put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let Hedgesville onto the board and left with an 8-0 victory.
Savannah Smith and Jersey Rummel did most of the damage at the plate: Smith went 2-for-3 with two runs, a triple, and two RBI, while Rummel scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Kalee Dalton, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Spring Mills scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Monday. They blew past Goretti 20-7. The win was just what Spring Mills needed coming off of a 10-2 loss in their prior contest.
Jefferson's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. As for Spring Mills, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
