Volleyball Recap: Kittson Central/Lancaster Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Kittson Central/Lancaster duked it out with Mabel-Canton on Friday. The Bearcats fell 2-0 to the Cougars. If the Bearcats were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Cougars when the teams met back in September of 2021, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Kaydence White paced Kittson Central/Lancaster's offense, picking up ten kills. White got some help from Camryn Whitlock and her nine assists. Afton Lindgren controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Mabel-Canton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Gwenyth Rein out in front who had 18 assists and eight digs. Rein is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 14 every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Lauren Burke, who had seven digs and one assist.

Kittson Central/Lancaster's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Mabel-Canton, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 19-1.

Kittson Central/Lancaster didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Pine River-Backus on the 20th. As for Mabel-Canton, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Mayer Lutheran on the 20th.
