League recap: Harrisburg leads league with three wins since last week

3A PacWest league recap: 3/27/13

Harrisburg outpaced the rest of the league this week, as its three total wins led the league. The Eagles beat Creswell 12-1, Ridgeview 14-5 and Elmira 10-9.

The Bulldogs made the biggest jump in the standings this week, moving from ninth to fifth place in 3A PacWest thanks to a 0-3 record over the past seven days. Meanwhile, Jefferson fell hardest in the standings, dropping from first all the way to third place after going 0-0 in the past week. Harrisburg (7-0, 1-0) is now in first place.

Scio's pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only six hits and three walks, both of which led the league.

There were ten hitters that batted over .400 in the league this week. The group was paced by Logan Gray, who collected four hits in five at bats for a .800 average.

Jordan Cooper struck out eight in the Lions' 6-4 win over the Loggers on March 19. He gave up four hits and six runs over five innings of work.



Trent Gianella was an RBI machine on Monday, as he knocked in four runs during Blanchet Catholic's 20-12 win over Dayton. He went 2-for-3 and scored two runs.
