Basketball Game Preview: Sprague Olympians vs. West Salem Titans

The Sprague Olympians will take on the West Salem Titans at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sprague knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 contests -- so hopefully West Salem likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, Sprague didn't have too much trouble with North Salem as they won 67-49. Given the Olympians' advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Vikings are ranked 110th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for West Salem, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against South Salem on Friday, sneaking past 73-71. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Titans have posted since December 21, 2024.

West Salem has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.1 points over those games. As for Sprague, they pushed their record up to 14-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Sprague strolled past West Salem when the teams last played back in January by a score of 75-58. Does Sprague have another victory up their sleeve, or will West Salem turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
