Volleyball Recap: Cherokee Braves vs. Union Academy Cardinals
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Cherokee had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over the Union Academy Cardinals. The Braves are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 19 straight.
Cherokee walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the third set). The final score came out to 25-16, 25-19, 25-13.
Joscelyn Stamper paced Cherokee's offense, picking up 15 kills. Stamper got some help from
Lilly Lossiah and her 25 assists. Finally,
Alexis Davis kept Cherokee's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.
Cherokee's win was their 28th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-1. As for Union Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 15-10.
Cherokee wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-2 victory against Cornerstone Charter on the 29th. Union Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
