Volleyball Recap: A.L. Brown Has No Trouble Against North Mecklenburg

While A.L. Brown didn't have the best season last year (they finished 2-10), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past the North Mecklenburg Vikings 3-0 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wonders.

While A.L. Brown might've won, it sure wasn't easy: North Mecklenburg scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-18, 25-18.

Among those leading the charge was Kevin Barrera-Perez, who had nine digs and three aces. Those three aces gave him a new career-high. Antonio Vazquez also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

A.L. Brown's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for North Mecklenburg, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Looking ahead, A.L. Brown will venture away from home to square off against Hough at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for North Mecklenburg, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-2 win against Woodlawn on the 8th.
