It was a good run, but Metairie Park Country Day unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Monday. They lost 14-3 to the Newman Greenies. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cajuns of the 11-10 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Metairie Park Country Day's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 10-3. As for Newman, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Metairie Park Country Day will challenge South Plaquemines at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Newman, they will venture away from home to take on Benjamin Franklin at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
