Football Recap: San Dimas Saints vs. Burbank Bulldogs

San Dimas unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through a 56-28 loss at the hands of the Burbank Bulldogs. The Saints were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Although San Dimas took the loss, they still got scores from Michael Baeza, Keenan Hoyt, Jacob Gallegos, and Liam Loyola.

Deshawn Laporte was a one-man wrecking crew For Burbank. as he threw for 369 yards and five touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also rushed for 81 yards on only eight carries. Those 369 passing yards gave Laporte a new career-high. Burbank's leading receiver Tyler Hudson was Laporte's top target yet again, picking up 118 receiving yards and one score, while also rushing for 48 yards.

Looking ahead, San Dimas is headed away from home for the first time to square off against Pasadena at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 864 yards in their previous games. As for Burbank, they will welcome Westwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
