Baseball Game Preview: Maplewood Tigers vs. Alleghany Trojans

For the second straight game, Maplewood will face off against Alleghany. Maplewood will head out to take on Alleghany at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.

While Tigers fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Friday's season opener. They skirted past Alleghany 3-1.

Chase Koelle made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Paul Hirosky was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Maplewood skirted past Alleghany 3-1 when the teams last played on Friday. Will Maplewood repeat their success, or does Alleghany has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
