Normal University waltzed into their match on Saturday with 11 straight wins... but they left with 12. They came out on top against the Mattoon Greenwave by a score of 2-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Pioneers also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2016.

Their offense was headlined by Taylor Penn and Laney Snow, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Morgan Petelin and her 11 assists. Emma Eloiza controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Despite the loss, Mattoon still got an impressive performance from Brooke Jobe, who had ten digs.

Normal University's win bumped their record up to 20-4. As for Mattoon, their loss dropped their record down to 12-14.

Normal University has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Armstrong on the 4th. As for Mattoon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Tri-Valley on the 4th.
