Penn Manor lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Hempfield, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's game. The Comets were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Black Knights on Wednesday. The victory was nothing new for the Comets as they're now sitting on three straight.
Juleigh Bowmaster spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Mia Skiadas was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Chloe Ream also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 4-6. As for Hempfield, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Penn Manor will square off against Manheim Township at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Hempfield, they will face off against Northern York at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
