Greenwood piles up the points against Laurens

Recap: Greenwood Eagles vs. Laurens Raiders

The Greenwood Eagles put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Laurens on the road to the tune of 52-24. Considering Greenwood has won eight matchups by more than 19 points this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Laurens' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nyri Allen, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds. Those 11 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Faith Jackson, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.

Greenwood pushed their record up to 16-0 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Laurens, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greenwood will take on Greenville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Greenville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Greenwood is ranked fifth). As for Laurens, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Wade Hampton at 6:00 p.m. Wade Hampton is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.
