Softball Game Preview: Sun Valley Vanguards vs. Strath Haven Panthers

The Sun Valley Vanguards will take on the Strath Haven Panthers at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Sun Valley will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

Sun Valley is headed into the game having just posted their closest win since April 9th on Tuesday. They skirted past Oxford 13-12.

Sun Valley got a massive performance out of Addison Mancini, who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Layla Kistler, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Sun Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March.

Meanwhile, Strath Haven fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Marple Newtown on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Fightin Tigers by a score of 5-4. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Fightin Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Strath Haven's loss dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Sun Valley, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-14.
