Volleyball Recap: Hart Takes a Loss

Hart entered their match against Fremont on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Pirates took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Packers. If the Pirates were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Packers when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Hart may have fallen short, but they were sure consistent: they scored 21 points in every single set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-21.

Reese Smith paced Hart's offense, picking up seven kills. Smith got some help from Grace Tucker and her seven assists. Smith was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Hart's loss dropped their record down to 10-12-1. As for Fremont, they are on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 20 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-5 record this season.

Hart wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against North Muskegon on the 1st. Fremont has also already played their next match (against Fruitport), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
