Everett Alvarez hadn't done well against Hollister recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Eagles narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Haybalers 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted against the Haybalers since March 13, 2018.

Dani Amendola spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 20 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Everett Alvarez saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michelle Wallace, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Everett Alvarez is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Hollister, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-7-1.
