Volleyball Game Preview: Ludlow Lions vs. East Longmeadow Spartans

The Ludlow Lions are taking a road trip to face off against the East Longmeadow Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Ludlow is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Ludlow managed to slip by Agawam the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Lions came up short against the Brownies on Thursday, falling 3-0.

Ludlow was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Agawam work for it, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-5, 26-24.

Meanwhile, East Longmeadow entered their matchup against Longmeadow on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Spartans fell just short of the Lancers by a score of 3-2.

East Longmeadow wouldn't go down easily and took Longmeadow into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking seven-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 19-25, 26-28, 25-17, 15-8.

Ludlow's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for East Longmeadow, they suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 15-3.

Ludlow suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to East Longmeadow in their previous meeting on Tuesday. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
