Basketball Recap: Melbourne Central Catholic Find Success

The third road contest was the charm for Melbourne Central Catholic, as they earned their first road win of the season. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 32-29 win over the Odyssey Charter School Titans on Monday. This was a revenge game for the Hustlers: when they faced off against the Titans back in December of 2024, they had to take a 39-32 defeat.

Odyssey Charter School lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Natalia Dejesus Bruno, who posted nine points. Another player making a difference was Thalisha Dhaiti, who earned seven points.

Melbourne Central Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 4-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.4 points per game. As for Odyssey Charter School, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Melbourne Central Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 43-20 loss against West Melbourne Christian Academy on the 14th. Odyssey Charter School has also already played their next contest, a 30-29 defeat against Lake Worth on the 16th.
