Softball Recap: Buffalo Takes a Loss

Buffalo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 27th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Eden Prairie Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bison have suffered against the Eagles since April 26, 2023.

Kenley Bechtold was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Bechtold was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Bechtold wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Sally Schmidt, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Buffalo's defeat dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Eden Prairie, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-8.

Buffalo didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 4-3 loss against Edina on the 11th. As for Eden Prairie, they have also already played their next matchup, a 4-1 defeat against Rogers on the 9th.
