Soccer Game Preview: Brighton vs. Lakeland Preparatory

The Brighton Cardinals are taking a road trip to square off against the Lakeland Preparatory Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Brighton's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They put the hurt on Haywood with a sharp 4-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for Brighton.

Meanwhile, Lakeland Preparatory entered their tilt with University on Friday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over the Tigers. Eli Coleman was a massive factor in the win as he booted in four goals all by himself.

Brighton's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-6-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those four matchups. As for Lakeland Preparatory, their win bumped their record up to 12-2-2.

Brighton couldn't quite get it done against Lakeland Preparatory in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 4-2. Can the Cardinals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
