Baseball Preview: Seneca Bobcats vs. Dixie Greyhounds        
        
		
            The Seneca Bobcats will head out on the road to  square off against  the Dixie Greyhounds  at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 13 consecutive losses dating back to last season for Seneca and five for Dixie dating back to last season.
Seneca is headed in fresh off scoring the most  runs they have   all season. They took  a  14-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tri-Village on Friday. Even if the Bobcats couldn't come away with the  win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.
 Michael Gilmore was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He  tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits. What's more,  he gave up only one  walk, the fewest he's  had since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI. That  RBI marked the first that  he has  brought in this season.
 In other batting news,  Michael Peterson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  went 4-for-5 with one  home run, three  runs,  and one  stolen base. That  home run was  his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Nick Sturdivant, who  went 1-for-4 with one  triple, two  RBI,  and one  run.
Meanwhile, Dixie unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of Brookville by a score of  7-6 on Saturday.
  Garrett Williams was cooking despite his team's loss,   getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances with three  RBI, one  stolen base,  and one  run.  Noah Thompson was another key player,  going 1-for-3 with one  stolen base and one  run.
 Seneca's record now sits at 0-9. As for Dixie, their record is now 0-1.
