Basketball Recap: Bothell Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Bothell faced off against Mount Si on Saturday. The Bothell Cougars were outmatched by the Mount Si Wildcats and fell 87-60. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Despite the defeat, Bothell saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jaylen McLaughlin went 8-for-18 on his way to 32 points and six boards. McLaughlin's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Raider Finau, who went 7-for-11 to rack up 18 points.

Brady Hennig was his usual excellent self, going 7-for-16 en route to 22 points and six assists for Mount Si. Those six assists gave Hennig a new career-high. Latt Ford was another key player, going 8-for-14 on his way to 19 points and six rebounds.

Bothell's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Mount Si, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Bothell has already played their next contest, a 79-75 victory against Juanita on the 11th. As for Mount Si, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 78-48 win against Redmond on the 11th.
