Softball Recap: Ouachita Parish Takes a Loss

After flying high against Mangham on Saturday, Ouachita Parish came back down to earth. The Ouachita Parish Lions came up short against the LaSalle Tigers on Saturday, falling 16-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Lions have suffered since April 4, 2024.

Rheagan Montgomery was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Malayah Vaughn, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one double.

With the loss, Ouachita Parish broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for LaSalle, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Ouachita Parish will challenge Ouachita Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for LaSalle, they will square off against Caldwell Parish at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
