Basketball Recap: Vanguard Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Vanguard had won two straight games and Michael 'MJ' Jackson did his part to make it three on Tuesday. The Knights came out on top against the Gainesville Hurricanes by a score of 51-44 for which the team can thank Jackson, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 13 boards. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points.

Vanguard's record is now 7-3. As for Gainesville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.

Looking ahead, Vanguard will venture away from home to face off against Citrus at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Gainesville, they will take on Westminster Christian in a tournament on Thursday. The Hurricanes will be up against the Warriors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 67.3 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
