Basketball Recap: Calera Takes a Loss

Calera has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They lost 53-28 to the Howe Lions on Saturday. The game marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Howe's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kadynce Delt, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 12 boards. What's more, Delt posted five assists, the most she's had since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Brilee Scarberry, who scored ten points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Calera's loss dropped their record down to 19-8. As for Howe, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season.

Calera does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Howe, they will challenge Hartshorne on Thursday.
