Soccer Game Preview: Calvary Christian vs. Clearwater Central Catholic

The Calvary Christian Warriors are taking a road trip to face off against the Clearwater Central Catholic Marauders at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Calvary Christian will be strutting in after a victory while Clearwater Central Catholic will be coming in after a defeat.

Calvary Christian's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed back in December of 2024. They walked away with a 2-0 win over Berkeley Prep. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Luis Capestany was the driving force of Calvary Christian's attack as he scored both of Calvary Christian's goals, bringing his season total up to ten goals.

Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, Clearwater Central Catholic was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They came up short against Shorecrest Prep, falling 3-0. The Marauders have struggled against the Chargers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Calvary Christian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Clearwater Central Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9-1.

Calvary Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Clearwater Central Catholic in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Calvary Christian since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
