Basketball Game Preview: Elite Scholars Academy Royal Knights vs. Greenville Patriots

Elite Scholars Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They slipped by Greenville 45-44.

Elite Scholars Academy will have to keep a close watch on Jarvis Simmons and Marquel Deering, a pair of players who had a big impact on Greenville's prior game. Simmons almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds, while Deering posted 13 points in addition to six boards and four steals. The dominant performance also gave Simmons a new career-high in blocks (three). Another player making a difference was Nicholas Hurley, who put up two points and four steals.

Greenville is on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-16. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points over those games. As for Elite Scholars Academy, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 5-20.
