Recap: Shoals Christian Flame vs. Alcorn Central Bears
The Shoals Christian Flame came tearing into Thursday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Alcorn Central by a score of 46-38. The victory was all the more spectacular given Shoals Christian's disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 129th in Alabama, while Alcorn Central is ranked 19th in Mississippi).
Sarah Davis (2025) continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 31 points and 29 rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Shoals Christian's points.
Shoals Christian's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Alcorn Central, their loss dropped their record down to 7-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shoals Christian will square off against Winfield at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Alcorn Central is on the road again on Monday and play against Corinth at 6:00 p.m. on December 4th.
