Basketball Game Preview: Inlet Grove Hurricanes vs. Santaluces Chiefs

The Inlet Grove Hurricanes will head out to square off against the Santaluces Chiefs at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Inlet Grove will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Last Monday, Inlet Grove earned a 62-49 win over Tradition Prep.

Inlet Grove relied on the efforts of Ja?Marcus Johnson, who went 7 of 13 en route to 20 points and three steals, and Robert Brown, who went 8 of 19 on his way to 21 points and three steals. Brown's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Raquan Washington, who posted four points.

Inlet Grove smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Santaluces beat Forest Hill 51-41 on Tuesday.

Inlet Grove pushed their record up to 12-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.1 points per game. As for Santaluces, their record is now 7-8.

Everything came up roses for Inlet Grove against Santaluces in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 76-40 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Inlet Grove since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
