Soccer Game Preview: Fairview vs. Giles County

The Fairview Yellowjackets will head out to challenge the Giles County Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Fairview will be strutting in after a win while Giles County will be coming in after a loss.

Fairview barely beat East Hickman County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Everything went Fairview's way against East Hickman County on Thursday as Fairview made off with a 4-0 victory. Considering the Yellowjackets' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

They hit East Hickman County with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Maxwell Arnold (2), Noah Simmons, and Trent Burlison.

Meanwhile, there was early excitement for Giles County after they claimed the first goal on Friday, however, they wouldn't score again. They fell just short of Smyrna by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty six goals in the game before, the Bobcats couldn't push the score so high this time.

Giles County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Fairview, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Fairview was able to grind out a solid win over Giles County in their previous matchup back in April of 2017, winning 2-0. Will Fairview repeat their success, or does Giles County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
